In addition to that, I want to suggest the option of making some tasks as daily, so that they are automatically unchecked the next day so that I remember to redo it

I use Microsoft Todo and have their widget added, but it has an uncustomizable white background that I dislike.

This is somewhat possible now with ThirdParty widgets integration. You can add a Widget from Google Keep and check items.
This is shipping in v2.1.6! A native TODO List widget: round checkboxes, strikethrough on completion, multiple lists, and reorderable tasks. Google Keep has no public API so we built it natively instead of embedding it. Check the changelog for the details, and thanks for all the votes on this one!
