Media mode

On the lockscreen, Android 12 displays a persistent notification media panel when it detects an app is operating in media mode. Tapping "Media output" also brings up a list of players running the background. Is it possible for SBP to query the OS and show/interact with media players that are running? Curious if this would be a way to allow media players other than Spotify/Amazon.

Shipped a while back. The Player queries the system for every installed media app and lets you enable any of them in the app selection, so it is not limited to Spotify or Amazon. Thanks for the suggestion!

One workaround I have found for my device (Samsung S10e). It has a capacitive touch ID button the side, and is configured to respond to swipes as well. When docked in landscape orientation (button now on top) and SBP running, I can swipe-right to open the Android shade, tap Media Output and control the player.

Technically possible, if the user has multiple player apps active, allow the user to switch between then.
